All Tower Hamlets schools undergo a thorough process to establish their PE and sport priorities for the year. That process is outlined in the attached document.

St Matthias Primary School agreed the following priorities with the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation for the 2015/16 academic year:

To develop PE across all year groups with an aim of children being spotted for gifted and talented or taken to clubs outside of school.PE lessons spilt into ability groups based on technique and level of understanding.
To take children to various school competitions throughout the calendar year, especially the children with lower ability so that they get the chance to experience competitive competition.The lower ability groups in Ks2 working with an aim to be selected for competitive competition outside of school.
