Sir John Cass Primary School was awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games Bronze Award for its performance in the 2014-15 academic year, as recognition of their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education.
All Tower Hamlets schools undergo a thorough process to establish their PE and sport priorities for the year. That process is outlined in the attached document.
Sir John Cass Primary School agreed the following priorities with the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation for the 2016/17 academic year:
|Competitions||To start competitions earlier (from September). Organise fixtures for Year 3 girls and boys.|
|Dance||Develop a scheme of work for whole school through the support of THYSF.|
|Leadership/Teachers||Develop an effective a curriculum map and planning process to help teachers develop better lessons.|
Previous year priorities were:
|Improving the swimming quality||Currently giving the year 3/4 longer sessions to give them a better quality swimming session.|
Looking at changing facility
Planning to bring in an extra-curricular swimming squad.
|To replenish/improve our equipment stocks||Purchasing new PE equipment to replace broken and old equpiment.|
Aim is to have enough balls (basketballs,netballs,football) for all the children in a class to participate.
|To enter more school competitions||Working with extra-curricular staff to find out what we could enter teams into, looking for suitable competitions.|
|Extra-curricular activites at lunchtimes||Trailing football with year 4 at lunchtimes.|
