80 young people from secondary schools across Tower Hamlets came together to take part in an exhilarating day of paralympic sports in Mile End this October.

Organised by Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation, the event was a showcase of the sporting talents and abilities that exists amongst young people in the borough who have SEND.

Spread across Mile End Park, whether you were indoors watching the students receive high quality coaching in wheelchair basketball, siting volleyball, judo or boccia, or outdoors seeing them show off their cricket, archery or football skills, there was a wonderful verve of energy and enthusiasm on exhibition throughout the day.

F6As well as being inclusive to all levels of ability, the event also acted as a chance for those students hoping to impress the watching coaches to gain selection to represent Tower Hamlets at the London Youth Games and Panathlon multi-sport competitions.  And the future looks promising, with Tower Hamlets looking to build on its excellent record in pan-London para games competitions in recent years.
