Malmesbury Primary School’s contribution of Primary PE and Sport Premium funding to the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation also allows events, programmes and staff to support pupils in accessing sport outside of school.


Malmesbury has developed and nurtured some outstanding young athletes who developed their passion and enthusiasm for sport while at the school. Below we shall provide a brief case study and profile of Malmesbury Primary School students who has been supported through their attendance at Malmesbury’s after-school clubs and their involvement in intra- and inter-school competitions, which were essential components in the success each individual has achieved:



William Andoh

2013-06-06 13.11.36William, the fastest young athlete in the UK, currently holds the Under 13 title for the 60, 80, 100 and 200 metre races. In his first year competing at national level in year 7 at Bishop Challoner School, William broke the 60m record four times.














Diane Mapamboli


Diane is another outstanding athlete and is ranked at number 4 in the UK for the Under 13 60 metre race.










Toby Woodward


Toby Captained the Malmesbury Waterpolo Team for two consecutive years while at Malmesbury. In April 2014, while in year 6 at Malmesbury, Toby captained the Tower Hamlets Waterpolo Squad which went on to win Gold at the London Youth Games. He was also awarded the THYSF Waterpolo Performer of the Year title in May that year.
