All Tower Hamlets schools undergo a thorough process to establish their PE and sport priorities for the year. That process is outlined in the attached document.

Bangabandhu Primary School agreed the following priorities with the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation for the 2015/16 academic year:

To introduce a new scheme of work in both key stages, which contains clear assessment tools.Introduce a new scheme of work from Cambridge Education that is to be used throughout the school.

A staff meeting will be used to show assessment provision.
To monitor the quality of teaching of BADU Sports coaches, who are supporting with PE and delivering during PPA coverStaff will fill in a questionnaire concerning PE provision within their class
Sports days will see an increase in parental involvement in the schoolInvitations will be sent out by children and parents will be more aware of the appreciation of their involvement
Bangabandhu will participate in more Inter School competitionsLearning mentors will be used to provide more opportunities to attend both Tower Hamlets and Badu Sports based events.
Increased opportunity for exercise and team games during the lunch hour, aimed at raising fitness within the schoolA programme based in ks2 will be introduced to raise fitness and reduce obesity

The previous year’s priorities were:

Monitor the teaching of PE across the schoolUsing the timetable monitor the teaching of PE throughout the school by carrying out short learning walks during sessions taught by the class teachers.

Use information gained to advise the teachers about future sessions.

Use Borough courses to develop teaching of PE based on individual needs.
Evidence to measure -
Staff will feel supported and confident when delivering PE lessons to their class.
Participate in Inter Borough and Badu Sports competitionsBangabandhu will continue to attend Borough competitions in a variety of sports. These will be informed by training that will be delivered during PE sessions by visiting trainers from the Borough.
Children will also participate in after school clubs organised through the Borough.
Evidence to measure -
Bangabandhu will be involved in Borough competitions enabling children to enjoy maximum participation in as many sports as we can.
Children will become more confident in participating in a number of different sports.
Participate in the ‘Bike it’ and ‘Maze’ cycling programme.Bangabandhu will continue its excellent relationship with Maze Cycle group that enables the Year 5 children to become proficient cyclers.
‘Bike it@ programme will be launched, that will enable children from year 4 to learn to cycle.
Evidence to measure -
All children from Years 4 to 6 will be able to complete stage 1 cycling programme.
Children will develop an interest in cycling
More children will cycle to school and become more confidence in maintenance and road safety.
